Soi Cowboy
Bangkok's Infamous Nightlife Area

One of the oldest red light areas in Bangkok. The first bar on this street was opened in the early 1970s. The street was given its name in reference to popular bar manager T. G. "Cowboy" Edwards, a retired American airman who first opened a bar on the street in 1977. Soi Cowboy's Nightlife has featured heavily in Hollywood movies depicting the red light areas of Southeast Asia such as Bangkok Dangerous (2008) and The Hangover Part 2 (2010) for example.
