‍Bangkok's infamous red light district and market street, Patpong was the first red light district in Bangkok as well as the location for the first ever agogo bar in the world.

But there’s a lot more to Patpong than just sex, two parallel streets host night markets, bars, clubs, there is an award winning museum, as well as ping pong and sex shows.

As you can see, Patpong is unique in that it has a much greater variety of bars, nightlife and entertainment than other nightlife areas in Bangkok. but that's not all that separates Patpong tours from other Bangkok tours. Being Bangkok's first red light district, Patpong is rich with culture, history and trivia. Did you know that the C.I.A ran its first Bangkok safe house in Patpong? Or while during the cold war, American corporations like Pan Am turned the street into the city’s main business district? Tony Poe, the C.I.A agent Marlon Brando’s Colonel Kurtz in ‘Apocalypse Now’ is based on, drank on this street and the likes of David Bowie and Jean-Claude Van Damme filmed projects here in the 1980s. Patpong is also famous for a serial killer, Charles Sobhraj, who found some of his victims in Patpong in the 1970s.

In short, there’s a thick historical fabric to this area that involves important people and geopolitical events, secrets related to drugs and covert war… followed by a lot of sex.
